"It" is not a particular man, but any man's
reptilian brain, only able to operate in a dual mode:
attack and/or defense. To maintain "itself"
the "beast" always needs an "enemy"
to fight against; "it" is like a tyrannic
software that has dominated men's thought and behaviour,
for millenia. The "beast"
always gives the responsibility of "its" own
actions to someone else,
such as God, natural
environment, terrorism
and/or even "aliens", if terrestial "enemies"
had disappeared; "it"
hates the truth which
has been told time and time again by sages through- out
history, since that truth would make any "enemy",
"its" own need for wars and any kind of
fighting disappear like the melting of snow in the sun:
