For the
first time people from other cultures were
invited to the reunion of elders, indigenous
priests and shamans from North and South
America.
The film „The White Road – Visions of the
Indigenous People of the Americas“ is a
documentation of this gathering that took place
in Merida on the Mexican pensinsula of Yucatán.
The documentary shows the messages and wisdom of
the ancient precolumbian cultures. In
contrast to Western philosophy of life that
draws ego limits, these cultures have the gift
of confiding in themselves and in the entire
creation. They greet each other with „In
lak'ech, a lak'en“ meaning „I am in you, and
you are in me.“
In this film we immerse into the Mayan world
with their fascinating temple grounds, their
unique calendar system und their mysterious
crystal skulls. Together with the indigenous
people we follow the White Road, the spiritual
path of the Mayas, in ceremonies and rituals
such as the unification of the condor and the
eagle in Mayapan, and the ceremony of the
equinox in Chichen Itza.
Dr. Eugenia Casarin
– her Mayan name is Nah Kin – is a qualified
Mexican psychologist and Mayan priestess. In
terms of music, she explains:
"We have been moving in the same pitch of
tone for quite a long time, but now we will
transfer onto a much higher pitch. For this transformation,
however, for this change in time and age, all of
humanity needs to have attained an equal level
of consciousness. This means that we have to
enter into an expanded level of consciousness.
If you wish to be in harmony with heaven and
earth, you need to be in harmony with all
there is – and with all the others. We need to
accept that everyone is unique. Without
judging him. Each individual is the way he is.
Let us respect that!“
According to an Indigenous legend, the eagle has
to undergo a radical transformation in the midst
of his lifetime, lest he wants to continue
living.
Is humanity confronting a similar decision today?
The indigenous people
demand of humanity to return to the essence.
For them, this essence is nature.
It is a return to the wisdom of our earth.
